I am currently Senior Vice President and AMPS Portfolio Manager for The Lynnvest Group of Advest, Inc. Prior to Advest I was Managing Director and founding partner of the M. D. Hirsch Division of Freedom Capital Management Corporation. From February 1991 to December 1994, served as President of the M. D. Hirsch Division of Republic Asset Management. Prior to Republic Asset Management, I was a Senior Vice President for Home Capital Services, Inc., the investment adviser subsidiary of Ambase Corporation, managing $7 billion.
While at Home Capital, I also held the positions of President and CEO of HCS Brokerage Services, Inc., the Distributor of the Home Group Funds with assets of $1.0 billion. Prior to Home Capital, I was employed by Colgate-Palmolive for 19 years where I held managerial, operational and investor relations positions at the corporate level and in subsidiary companies. My last assignment with Colgate was the position of Vice President and Chief Financial Officer for Teledisc USA, a joint venture of the company. (nominated for a Grammy) Prior to Colgate, I worked for two years at Phelps-Dodge Corporation, primarily in financial and management information systems (MIS) capacities.
I have appeared in magazines and newspapers and have been a guest on WOR radio in New York and several television programs. I have also been a speaker at various investment and financial conferences. I received my B.S. from the University of Connecticut, an M.B.A. from Iona College, and hold insurance licenses for life, health and annuities and an Accredited Asset Management Specialist designation.
I am married to Iris with a son, daughter and 2 beautiful grandchildren. I lost my first wife, Lynn, to cancer after 26 years of marriage. We live in Monroe Twp, NJ and part time in Palm Desert, California.
