Born in Livingstone in Northern Rhodesia. Moved from there with my folks to New Zealand in 1964. Lived for a short time in Paparoa in the North Island and then moved to Tauranga where we lived until 1970.
From there, travelled back to Africa and settled in Salisbury where I completed high school at Prince Edward. My first job when I left school was with Air Rhodesia. I worked with them at the Airport, in the City Air Terminal and at Victoria Falls for a number of years. I did National Service with the Rhodesian Air Force where I qualified as a paramedic.
Left Rhodesia in 1980 for Brisbane with a wife and 7 month old son. Worked in the travel industry there until moving to Perth to a better job in 1982. I worked for various companies within the travel industry in Perth - Security Travel, New Horizons Travel, Jetset Travel.
I now work for Edith Cowan University in the Centre for Learning and Development Services and have been with the University since 1993.
